Starting in the late 80s as a small family study group, it was officially incorporated in 1992 and granted tax-exempt status in 1993 under regulation 501(c)(3).
The Allan Kardec Spiritist Society of Maryland will be very pleased to receive your visit, and invites you and your family to attend its weekly public meetings, in Portuguese on Mondays, in English on Thursdays. In both languages, Spiritism is explained through:
-
The sequential presentation of the 1019 questions from The Spirits’ Book, as codified by Allan Kardec, and which are the basis for the Spiritist Doctrine, and
-
Readings from The Gospel According to Spiritism, a work that explains the ministry and teachings of Jesus in the light of the Spiritist Doctrine.
In both our public meetings we also conduct a session of passes*.
Should you decide to become a member of our society please complete the enrollment form in the link below.

* Passes:
“Passes are a transfusion of energy, altering the cellular field… In magnetic assistance, spiritual resources are blended between emission and reception, helping the individual in need to help him or herself.”
(Andre Luiz, In the Domains of Mediumship, Ch.17)
“The donation of spiritual energies or vital fluids from a medium and/or spiritic source to a patient. Spiritist divides passes into three types: (1) magnetic, in which the energy source is the medium; (2) spiritual, in which the energy source is the spirit; and (3) mixed, in which the source is both. Spiritists believe that, in practice, most passes are of the third type.”
(David J. Hess – Spirits and Scientists – Ideology, Spiritism and Brazilian Culture – 1991. The Pennsylvania State University).
